These terms govern use of the RenewRN Rules dataset and its delivery surfaces: the REST API under /api/v1, bulk JSON and CSV downloads, and the MCP server at /api/rules/mcp (together, "the Data").
You may use the Data free of charge for evaluation, research, journalism, and other non-commercial purposes, provided any public display of the Data or figures derived from it carries this attribution with a working link:

Attribution applies to commercial use too. Any public-facing surface that displays the Data, or figures derived from it, carries the same attribution with a working link. Internal-only use (workflows, spreadsheets, and tooling your customers never see) needs no attribution. Commercial agreements may vary this term in writing.
Commercial terms scale with how the Data is used, and with the size of the organisation using it. A solo practitioner or small team using it internally is a much smaller agreement than a national employer embedding it in a product, and the published anchors on the data page start accordingly. Ask rather than assume you are priced out.
Using the Data in internal business operations, embedding it in a product or service, or redistributing it (in whole or in part, raw or transformed) requires a written commercial agreement. Contact support@renewrn.net or use the request form on the data page.
The Data is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Regulatory rules change; every record carries a last-verified date and an official source URL, and you are responsible for verifying any rule against the relevant state Board of Nursing before acting on it.
The Data is informational and does not constitute legal, regulatory, or professional advice. RenewRN is not affiliated with, and the Data is not endorsed by, any state Board of Nursing or regulatory body.
The public API is rate-limited per IP, and bulk-download endpoints require a free API key issued to your email. Sharing keys to evade limits, circumventing rate limits, scraping at a volume inconsistent with evaluation use, or misrepresenting commercial use as non-commercial terminates the free grant. We may modify or discontinue the free tier; commercial agreements are governed by their own terms.
