A multistate license doesn't follow you automatically when you move. Change your legal residence to another compact state and you have 60 days to relicense there, then the old one deactivates.
"I have a multistate license, so if I move to another compact state it just keeps working, the compact handles it."
It does not transfer automatically. When you change your primary state of residence to another compact state, you must apply for licensure by endorsement in the new home state, and the compact gives you 60 days to do it. Once the new state issues your license, it becomes your issuing state and your prior multistate license is deactivated. Until you relicense, continuing to practice on the old home-state privilege after the move can put you out of compliance. The one thing the compact tracks tightly is your home state.
