Indiana does not require continuing education hours for RN or LPN license renewal, making it one of the simplest renewal processes among the states we track. APRNs with prescriptive authority must complete 30 hours including at least 8 hours of pharmacology. Indiana has the lowest RN renewal fees at $50 and is a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) member state, allowing nurses with a multistate license to practice across all compact states.

Indiana does NOT require continuing education for regular RN/LPN renewal, so there is no CE to submit or attest. Per 848 IAC 1-1-8, renewal is an application plus fee: “(8.2) Applicants for renewal of license shall pay a renewal fee,” mailed in odd years to RNs; the Indiana State Board of Nursing rules (848 IAC) impose no CE-hours requirement for renewal. (The 30-hour requirement that includes 8 pharmacology hours belongs to APRN prescriptive authority, not RN reinstatement. Reinstating a license expired 3 or more years is governed by IC 25-1-8-6(d): the board may impose remediation or additional training based on the length of the lapse, and holding an active RN license in another US state or territory satisfies that.) No CE certificates, no CE Broker.
