Montana is one of the easiest states for nursing license renewal — no continuing education hours are required. Effective November 18, 2023, the Montana Board of Nursing repealed all CE requirements for RNs, LPNs, and APRNs. Nurses simply need to complete the online renewal process and pay the fee before December 31 of their renewal year. Montana is a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) member state, so nurses with a multistate license can practice across all compact states without additional licenses.
