Oregon eliminated its practice-hours requirement for license renewal effective January 1, 2026. Currently, nurses must complete 2 hours of cultural competency CE and 1 hour on pain management per renewal cycle. New CE hour requirements (20 hours for RN/LPN, 75 hours for APRN) take effect January 1, 2028. Oregon has no grace period for renewal, and late fees are steep. Oregon is not currently an NLC member; compact legislation has been considered (SB 966) but is not yet in effect.
