Georgia lets RNs demonstrate continuing competency through ONE of five options each 2-year cycle: 30 Board-approved CE hours, a current national certification, an accredited academic nursing program, employer verification of competency plus 500 practiced hours, or other Board-approved activities (LPNs: 20 CE hours via the same option framework). The Board's continuing-competency rule (GAC 410-13) mandates NO specific CE topics. Georgia is a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) member state, and nurses report CE through CE Broker.

Track your renewal steps with ProYou report CE through CE Broker, the board's designated reporting system.
A Georgia RN meets the biennial continuing-competency requirement and the Board tracks it through CE Broker, its designated system, rather than through the SOS renewal form. The board's CE page states: “All licensed nurses must submit proof of meeting continuing education (CE) requirements for biennial license renewal. The Georgia Board of Nursing utilizes CE Broker to track evidence of continuing competency for nurses,” and “Licensees should submit all continuing education documentation to CE Broker.” For most nurses the hours are reported for them: “educational providers will report the credits directly into CE Broker for you - but you should always retain a copy of the certificates for your records.” The nurse renews the license in the Georgia SOS online licensing system (GA OneStop) and the Board reviews the CE Broker record electronically at audit; there is no CE-certificate upload into the SOS renewal application and no separate paper CE filing at renewal.
Where it happens: Georgia Online Licensing System (Georgia SOS ‘OneStop’); CE is tracked in CE Broker, the board's designated CE system
goals.sos.ga.gov/GASOSOneStop/s/loginBecause Georgia makes you report your CE at renewal, not just attest, you'll need every certificate on hand. Keep them organized in RenewRN so they're ready when it's time to renew, free CE tracking, no card required.
After a successful renewal the nurse remains subject to a random Board audit, which the Board conducts electronically against the CE Broker record. The board CE page directs nurses to keep the requirement satisfied in CE Broker (“This lists all the courses which have been reported thus far and indicates whether you have satisfied your renewal requirements”) and warns against noncompliance with Board Rule 345-4-.02. Selection is random; documentation is the CE Broker course history plus retained certificates. The board CE page does not publish a fixed numeric audit response deadline on-site.
